1/10/2022 Jaw Dropping Miracles
I tried to make this shorter... I really tried.
Hello to all my favorite people, I miss you!
This week has literally been one of the best on the mission so far! I have no idea why God allows me to witness and be apart of this great work but wow! I am so thankful that I am able to be a missionary right now!
This week every day something crazy happened that most people who aren't in the Gospel or who don't have a faith in God would have seen as coincidental but I can not deny the role God plays in each one of our lives! God is literally in control and He reminded me of that this week! Everything is in His hands! My mom wanted me to share one of the miracles that we saw this week :) like I said I tried to make this short but I really can't lol.
So a typical "finding" day we would go to Uxbridge and be there for about an hour to an hour and a half max but the zone decided this week we would find for 3 hours straight π
Uxbridge high street is kind of like station park. After the first day we realized it wouldn't be very effective to walk up and down one area for 3 hours. A thought came to my mind that we should start on Ruislip (another high street) then make our way to uxbridge and then go to the Uni that is near by. I was kind of confused why I had that thought because I have NEVER been to the University and I didn't know if it would be beneficial or not. I actually had never been anywhere but Uxbridge because that's where Sister Fennegan liked to go... Anyways I bring up the idea to Sister Jones, we prayed about it and felt like it was a good idea :)
Finding on Ruislip was a complete bust. It was cold and rainy so nobody was stopping to speak to us and then this man was really gross and said stuff that made us feel so uncomfortable. We went home and prayed because we just felt so gross and uncomfortable and kind of like we failed for the day. Then we went to Uxbridge and again nobody wanted to talk to us! But we saw this guy with a really nice Nike (did you know they pronounce it like "mike" hereπ€¦♀️) windbreak and Sister Jones and I both felt like we should try and talk to him but he had headphones in and was walking so fast and looking at his phone so we didn't get the chance :(
We keep trying to find in Uxbridge for about 10 more minutes and just felt at a loss. We were debating whether we stay in uxbridge for 15 more minutes or if we should go catch a bus and go to the uni. We decided to go catch a bus and at our bus stop we see the guy with the Nike windbreaker! We were so excited to talk to him but then our bus pulled up! We looked at each other and decided we were willing to miss our bus to talk to him but then he got on the bus! So we hurried and jumped on. For some reason doing missionary work on public transport is just so awkward and difficult. We complimented his shoes and then sat in silence... but we have these cards with the churches website on them and we always write our numbers down so as we got of the bus Sister Jones gave him one but she didn't say anything and we ran off the bus.
Kind of a missionary fail on our part, we felt so dumb because we were acting like jr high girls giving our crush our number or something π€¦♀️ We get to the uni and it is DEAD! Like nobody is out and I was so sad. But then this guy walks out of one of the buildings and I said Hi and invited him to come to church with us. He asked us which church and then he told us that was his church! His name is Takura (tucker with an A at the end) he is from Zimbabwe, he told us he is currently doing BYU pathways and that his brother lives in Utah! So so cool! We were having a casual conversation with him and the spirit was telling me to ask him when he was baptized. So I asked and he said he isn't baptized.
God is so mindful of each one of us and just like in the times of the Bible and Book of Mormon He WILL find His lost sheep π₯°
So we exchanged numbers with Takura and we think since he was raised LDS he will be baptized fairly quick (a lot quicker than most people who are new to the LDS faith at least)
We met 5 other people at the Uni that day who really have a desire to come closer to God and we have lessons with them this week π
As we were taking a bus back home we were joking about how awkward and awful the encounter with the Nike man was. But then we got a text and it said "Hey, you gave me your card on the bus."
Sister Jones told me that her whole mission (She's been out almost 15 months) that nobody has ever texted her from a card! We were blown away! So we had a call with him explained what we do and why we gave him a card and now we are teaching him!! π€―π€―π€―
I know I just threw so many "unneccesary" details at you but if you think about that day you can see how God is literally in every single detail! If we didn't deal with thag weird man in Ruislip our day would have been so different! If we missed our bus we wouldn't have spoken to Nike guy (his name is Andrew btw) and if we missed our bus to talk to Andrew we wouldn't have met Takura! Like everything just puzzled together perfectly! :')
I am so grateful for the oppurtunity I have to serve and see these miracles take place! If my mission has taught me anything so far it is that God uses imperfect people to perform miracles. I am so imperfect but I still get to participate in this amazing work! Joseph Smith was imperfect and pretty uneducated but God used him to restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Everything in life is such a miracle and I just am in awe.
I hope all of this makes sense lol. But anyways that was just one day! God is so good and He loves us all so much! I hope you have felt His love this week ❤

I love you all! Please pray for George (new friend) and Elmo (his dog), Takura, Andrew, Shasha, Tony and John :)
Let me know if there is anything I can be praying for specifically!!!
I love you all so much! Have a fab week❤
