Proposals and False Prophets 5/9/2022

Well...

If i were you i'd grab some popcorn or something. This week has been an eventful one.

Also spoiler but, i said no!!! lol

Honestly so much has happened but i can't remember half of it because this week went by so fast! It was a good, very memorable week for sure. I would like to say it was just the same old same old but this week was really wild!

We we're street finding onw day and as we were passing a man Sister Deveraux said hi! He stopped and said that he was "prophet elias" and he wasn't even kidding. It was actually kind of scary because it just... idk i just felt the Holy Ghost leave when he started speaking. It really built my testimony though and makes me want to continue to 'stand in holy places' so that i can always feel the Holy Ghost!

On Thursday we went into Hyde Park for zone conference. It's always so great but this one was my favorite one yet! And i got to see Sister Costa so that's a bonus :) It's always fun to be around all the missionaries and the Thompsons 💜
President and Sister Thompson both tested positive for covid this weekend so it'll only a matter of time before i have it... again 🤦‍♀️

After zone conference i went to mitcham area with my STL's for exchanges. On Friday we were out street finding and on the way back to the Sisters flat we waved to 2 guys that we chilling in the equivalent of like a tire shop maybe??? Anyways waves hi from across the street, then i yelled over and invited them to come to church. We ended up walking over there and had a really cool conversation. One of them has an uncle in Ghana who is a member :) Then.... wow.
This other guy comes out from the garage or whatever right. He was just a character. He came out pretending he was deaf and that was really weird. Then after he was done with that skit he left to take a call. He came back and i introduced myself. He thought my name was funny because he then introduced himself as "Brother Donkey" (still don't know his real name) so the convo keeps going, he said he liked my accent, asked where i was from and then GOT ON HIS KNEE and asked for my freaking hand in marriage!!! It was quite romatic actually. My future husband definitely has some competition now 🤣 Never thought that would be something i'd experience on my mission but hey... it happened lol.

On a less happy note. Our friend Ayo who will be getting baptized on the 28th is now being taught by Elders. It makes me really sad but i'll still be able to attend his baptism. And i trust the Elders that will be teaching him to take good care of him 😇

Back to happy notes, Bella's baptism is finally (almost) here! This Saturday she'll be baptized and I am so excited for her!

Sister Deveraux bithday is this Wednesday but as missionaries your only option is to celebrate on pday. So we had a birthday pday! We went to this Harry Potter thing that was pretty cool! And then to chinatown and out to lunch 😋

We had a 'pass off' lesson with Ayo (a lesson with both sets of missionaries so the original missionaries teaching can introduce the friend to the other missionaries) and in that lesson Ayo says...

"The Book of Mormon is the sword of the Spirit!"

How true that is. That made me so happy too because often times I feel like I need to defend my beliefs, defend my Savior and His true church. But the Book of Mormon IS true and the spirit can defend that far better than I can. I literally love being a missionary and I know without a doubt in my mind that Jesus Christ has restored all truth because He loves us!

That's all for this week. Pray that i don't get covid please! Praying for you all each day. Happy belated mothers day to all the wonderful women i know! Love you forever!!!

Love,
Sister Fox🌻
