2-16-2023 Black Country

hi friends! this week has been a lot faster than last so we are very happy about that! Sister Keller and I are still having the time of our lives! I honestly SO forever grateful for the friends i've made during my service!

this week has been fun! we had interviews and it was as always nice to have the one on one time with President & Sister Thompson. Sister Thompson and I are besties and I always love chatting with her!

We have been doing some Book of Mormon studies with this women named Lara. First we thought she was crazy... She is this old lady from africa and the first time she had us over she did in fact pee with her door wide open!! no joke! But honestly, She is so special. Sister Keller and I have grown to love her so so much!  She was raised Muslim but converted years ago and she just talks about wanting "More Jesus" in her life. I love that, we all need more Jesus! And its been really amazing to be reminded that we all have something to bring to the table! Like i have learnt so much from Lara! from her conversion story and from her insights she shares as we do our Book of Mormon studies(:

We haven't been able to get ahold of Derek or Melissa!! PLEASE send prayers we are so sad about that.

We had a relief society activity on Friday, it was Zumba. was really intense like a proper Zumba instructor, i felt bad for the old fragile women but Keller and I had a grand time lol.

lots of DA's haha this must be what state side (utah) missionaries feel like haha!
i did make a fool of myself at bishops house! I brought up a place near birmingham called wolverhampton, bishop said what do you know about wolverhampton ?
i said nothing i just have friends from there. he said "thats black country"
i said "really? all the people i from there are white"
he said not literally! hahaha
how embarrassing! leave it to me though lol
on the bright side it was me that said it and not any of the other sisters and bishop is brown so he and his wife thought it was hilarious !

today was fun! we've managed to get a lot done! we went to china town and i feel like i haven't been there since last year with Kylie! was so my fun. had a chinese buffet and we went to the m&m and the lego store as well! Elder Hunt and Elder Black were thriving in the lego store haha!

i love being a missionary! i love seeing the spirit work and soften so many hearts. This week i've seen so many miracles. I've seen a grown man cry because he was so overwhelmed with joy and love...Jesus lives & He loves each of us endlessly! i'm working on being a little bit more like Him each day!

Madey reminded me of a really good scripture this week and it made me think about how i can be more like Christ and build a firm foundation or a firm testimony of His love. Love drives everything and i love the Book of Mormon! I know its truly God's words and I know that the restored Gospel is FULL, full of truth, peace, love, and full of rest!

i love you all! have a happy week!

"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." Helaman 5:12
