march 27 2023 half of 18....:(
hi! every single week becomes my favorite week of my mission because God is so good! if i had to pick i definitely think this week would at least be in the top 3 !!
time is literally zooming. ten days! crazy!
this week i spent the whole of tuesday in farnborough with sister Barben! she is so sweet & i'm stoked to see her again when she gets home ♡
Wednesday was amazing. We had are departing temple trip with the Thompsons. i love to be in the Temple always but Wednesday was an experience i had never had before. I was able to do proxy family sealing & wow. What a beautiful gift God gives us of eternal families!
And i get to see mine in 10 days ahhh!
but yeah a lot of realizations and i've never known more confidently that this is the Lords church! I've never felt closer to my Savior and the spirit than i have felt when in the holy temple.
thursday we spent most the day with our district! and then we went to Joy & Victor's for a lesson and we invited them and Divine to be baptized! We are so so excited for their family. They are so sad that i am going home and said i need to come stay with them when i visit and that they will whatsapp me for the baptism π₯° i'm gonna miss them! to be able to witness the gospel bless this families lives has truly been a memorable experience! when we first started teaching Joy, victor was not keen on religion. He didn't trust religious leaders and had bad experiences with churches back in Nigeria. He has always been kind and happy for his children to learn but would not speak to us or engage in our lessons. Throughout the weeks he has started to come in to "clean the kitchen" and we noticed him listening in(:
after we would finish teaching he began asking us questions & you could literally see him opening his mind & the spirit did soften his heart because now he is so ready and excited to be baptized with his family & they are already making plans to be sealed in the temple a year from now!
Joy and Victor have become such good friends. Victor gives us dating advice all the time and says you need to be best friends or it'll be too easy to give up. and just cute things like that. They also are making plans to visit me in utah because they really want to meet my family (:
Friday was pretty normal to be completely honest i don't even remember what we did haha !
Saturday was great! We went to the temple again! President and Sister Thompson spent their pday with just Sister HΓΈjvang and I and we got to go back to the temple. I sobbed my eyes out again because i'm just so grateful that i get to be sealed to the coolest humans ever!
yesterday was good, i gave a talk in Sacrament and almost made it through without crying haha but it just gave me practice for the 16th. btw pull up to the hoco @ noon. how's that saying go?
be there or... we aren't friends! haha just jokes, kinda.
okay to explain the title well... ask my auntie Jane about her love for Saltines lol. today is our last pday in the area so Sister Tehahe-Stemmer & Sister Jones want to throw us a departing party lol. but it's their 9 months so we decided we are having a funeral & a baby shower today (;
and as always the elders can't stand being apart so they invited themselves to come celebrate/mourn with us lol. it was a really good time!
i'm looking forward to this week! we are insanely busy! We have MLC tomorrow which will be no good because ima have to say a lot of hard goodbyes! ugh.
i'm not gonna lie i am so emotional about going home! like i'm so excited to see my family but also like... why can't my family just come here and i keep on keeping on? a bit rude but whatever. anyways been really happy and sad, excited and nervous, all the feelings. but i was studying the other day and came across D&C 45:62 & i think it's a good thing to be reminded of where ever we are in life♡
"For verily I say unto you, that great things await you"
so in other words, come what may. and LOVE it! i have come to know that through the gospel i don't have worries! i do have struggles and trials as everyone else does but never worries. because i know & trust the one who is in control!
i'm so excited for conference! i hope you all are able to walk away from it changed and spiritually uplifting. i know that the things that will be shared and spoken about are literally God's words. & i know that he loves each of you enough to use President Nelson and His apostles to lead and guide us back to Him!
"covenant keepers are entitled to a special kind of rest that comes to them through their covenantal relationship with God." President Russell M Nelson
i love you all so bad! see you a little too soon utah !!
